Today Andy explains why Social Media has started to affect search engine rankings.

Why does Social Media affect SEO?

More and more social media is being taken into consideration when search engines deliver results. But why is this?

Google has its own Social Media platform called Google+ and being active on the network has begun to affect the ranks of search results. Because Google has worked this into their algorithm, other search engines have begun to do the same thing. So when you are sharing content, make sure you share that content on Google+. When Google sees that you are sharing that content, it takes that into consideration and makes it more relevant. Another reason social media content is important for SEO, is because it is know that content shared through social media shows up 50% faster.
