Ok, everyone- a quick little Photoshop tip here. In order to get a decent sense of depth in whatever graphical element you’re working on, you can use radial gradients with the overlay setting. What you would do is make a layer on top of whatever graphic you want to make pop out a little bit more, put a white radial gradient that fades into zero transparency in the middle of it. Set that layer then to overlay and adjust the settings a little bit. Usually I try to put it at 25-30% opacity. What this gives you is a really nice sense of depth that is subtle but really stands out on whatever graphic you are working on. It looks really good on buttons or whatever you need to click.
