Hey guys, today I wanted to talk briefly about one of the first questions we usually get when a company is just starting out in SEO. They usually ask us what page rank is and why does it matter? Well the simple answer, is that Page rank measures your web pages importance based on an algorithm developed by Larry Page, co-founder of Google. How it works is that Page Rank puts a numerical weighting on each hyperlinked web page within the World Wide Web. Its purpose is to list web pages from the most important to the least important when shown in search results. This has a significant impact on your company because websites that are well optimized and prepared for the Page Rank algorithm will already have an advantage over your website and have a better chance at being seen first in search results. And if you think about it, when you’re searching for something, how often is it that you look on the 3rd or 4th page of search results? Now although it continues to be important, you need to keep in mind that Page rank is just one of the many factors used to determine the order in which pages appear in search results. So make sure you register for our SEO seminar on March 28th and we’ll make sure to get you started in the right direction.
